"Are you going to the party on Saturday?" she asked as if I didn't know
See ever since I saw you on the back of some guy's bicycle
Well, I've been feeling kinda so-so.
Well, I've been feeling kinda so-so.

Current Event
The
California Assembly (68 - 0) and Senate (26 - 7) both overwhelmingly
voted in favor of a non-binding resolution that officially renames the
western span of the Bay Bridge after former mayor Willie Brown, Jr.
"The iconic Bay Bridge should keep the name that it has had for 77 years."
-- Jerry Brown, California Governor
"I'm hoping that by Black History Month, he might have a change of heart."
-- Alice Huffman, President of the California NAACP
"I know the governor has expressed opposition, but I don't think it's that big of a deal."
-- Ed Lee, San Francisco Mayor
"The
resolution... failed to meet two criteria established by the Legislature
to avoid controversial naming of public structures: It was neither
proposed by a politician representing the Bay Area, nor did it have the
support of the Bay Area community."
-- Chip Johnson, San Francisco Chronicle columnist

It's appeared on the San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 list for seven years running. It graced the Bay Area edition of the Michelin Guide for
four years. And while prices, which used to be quite fair at $15-20
upon opening, have increased by about 50%, Range remains a great
special-occasion destination. I had happy dreams about the coffee-rubbed
pork shoulder (not currently on the menu), but you really can't go
wrong here. 4 stars - 1460 reviews

If in
that off-chance you forgot to make a reservation at Range - or want to
park early while you have the chance - step in here for a lively pint
and awesome complimentary soda bread. I would estimate about 10
televisions playing various sporting events, so you can catch the
Niners, A's, or World Cup qualifying while you're at it. 4 stars - 566

History
Nathaniel Lyon (1818-1861)
This
is partly exciting because I pass by the Lyon St. sign post every day!
Mr. Lyon, born in Connecticut, fought in both the Mexican-American and
Civil Wars. He staunchly opposed slavery. In 1861, he commanded an army
infantry in St. Louis, and at the Battle of Springfield, he became the
first Union general to be killed in action. Lyon St., which runs between
Haight St. and Marina Blvd., is named after him.
