The band owes its roots to the Central Valley, and later San Francisco State University. They've since opened for The Black Keys, and had their songs used in a Jack Daniels commercial and a "Sons of Anarchy" episode. Upcoming Bay Area shows are on April 1 at San Jose's The Ritz and April 2 at Mill Valley's Sweetwater Music Hall.

You'll need to trek upstairs to this expansive space (formerly a Thai restaurant) overlooking Polk Street. Gluten-free fans will rejoice at the range of cider options, but the kitchen is decidedly busy with its orders of pulled pork sliders, kale caesar salads, lamb flatbreads, and buffalo fries. The housemade blueberry ketchup for the sweet potato fries is certainly unique.

I'm not really sure I'd call this a sports bar, although there are TVs that could be used for that purpose. It's more of a quiet lounge, an upgraded version of the Lush Lounge at this corner of Post and Polk. Plinko seems to be a fun game for many here, as you gamble what drink (or drinks) you will get.

Just north of Baker Beach, this cove is the closest you'll get from the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge coastline. It's a sizable hike down the well-maintained trail from the parking lot, but once there, you'll be afforded relative tranquility and solitude. If it's a warm day, watch out, the crowds and nudists will be keeping you company.

New charity: Bay Leaf Kitchen. This nonprofit offers cooking classes and farming education to children ages 3-17, with a particular focus on seasonal, sustainable ingredients. The band owes its roots to the Central Valley, and later San Francisco State University. They've since opened for The Black Keys, and had their songs used in a Jack Daniels commercial and a "Sons of Anarchy" episode. You'll need to trek upstairs to this expansive space (formerly a Thai restaurant) overlooking Polk Street. Gluten-free fans will rejoice at the range of cider options, but the kitchen is decidedly busy with its orders of pulled pork sliders, kale caesar salads, lamb flatbreads, and buffalo fries. The housemade blueberry ketchup for the sweet potato fries is certainly unique.

I'm not really sure I'd call this a sports bar, although there are TVs that could be used for that purpose. It's more of a quiet lounge, an upgraded version of the Lush Lounge at this corner of Post and Polk. Plinko seems to be a fun game for many here, as you gamble what drink (or drinks) you will get.

Just north of Baker Beach, this cove is the closest you'll get from the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge coastline. It's a sizable hike down the well-maintained trail from the parking lot, but once there, you'll be afforded relative tranquility and solitude. If it's a warm day, watch out, the crowds and nudists will be keeping you company.
