Randy's Guide 5-7-2: Election Special

The November 6 California General Election is less than three weeks away. Register to vote by October 22... do it online! Any vote-by-mail ballot must be postmarked or dropped off at a precinct within your registered county by Election Day.
 
California voters will face 11 statewide propositions and statewide office elections including Governor and Senator. Sorry, the one about splitting up California was removed from the ballot, but high-profile propositions about rent control and the gas tax repeal remain on the ballot. For SF voters, five local propositions, five district supervisors, and other offices including the US House and CA Assembly. Drawing the most attention is a homeless measure that increases taxes on larger businesses.
 
CA Proposition 1: Bonds for Housing Assistance
Authorizes $4 billion in bonds to fund existing housing programs for low-income individuals, veterans, families, and farmworkers.

Without further ado, California voters will face five statewide propositions and statewide office primaries including Governor and Senator. For SF voters, you'll decide on a regional proposition to raise bridge tolls, nine local propositions including a flavored tobacco ban, and local offices including Mayor.
