Randy's Guide 5-7-6: Election Special

It's been a long time coming.

Election Day is in less than two weeks on November 5 in a majority of California counties, including Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Alameda, and San Francisco.

 
For San Francisco, the ballot has high-profile races for Mayor, District Attorney, and a Board of Supervisor seat (my district!).
 
- Mayor -
London Breed
The current Mayor will likely cruise to victory for her first full term.

The other candidates are: Robert L. Jordan, Jr. (preacher); Wilma Pang (retired music professor); Paul Ybarra Robertson (small business owner); Ellen Lee Zhou (behavior health clinician), who finished fifth in last year's Mayoral election; and Joel Ventresca (retired airport analyst), who has the support of the SF Green Party.

Chesa Boudin
The Deputy Public Defender runs as the reform candidate.

Suzy Loftus
The interim District Attorney received negative press for what some deemed as an inside ploy to give her an advantage for the general election.

Leif Dautch (Deputy Attorney General) counts State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Sierra Club (#2), SF Firefighters 798, and SF Deputy Sheriffs' Association among his supporters.

Dean Preston
The neighborhood activist flanks from the left.

Vallie Brown
The appointed supervisor tries to gain re-election to a full term.

Proposition A: Affordable Housing Bond
Sell $600 million in bonds to buy, build, and repair housing for low-income people, seniors, and teachers. Needs 2/3 majority to pass.
