It's massive. Expect to spend several hours to sift through the various marching bands, elected officials, and corporate floats before the gigantic golden dragon and firecrackers at the grand finale. The route winds up Market, then Geary, onto Powell, back onto Post, and finally north on Kearny.

Opening in 1918, the ice cream parlor remained within a Greek family for three generations. In 2002, the place changed hands, upgraded its menu and dining room, and well the rest is hipster history. Nebulous potato dishes and milkshakes remain popular diner options. It's only open until 3pm weekdays, 4pm weekends.

It's massive. Expect to spend several hours to sift through the various marching bands, elected officials, and corporate floats before the gigantic golden dragon and firecrackers at the grand finale. The route winds up Market, then Geary, onto Powell, back onto Post, and finally north on Kearny.
2. Noise Pop Festival

Take that, Austin. Noise Pop offers a slew of paid-entry performances, but for those on a budget, a number of free receptions or happy-hour performances can be found at Bender's Bar & Grill, Alamo Drafthouse, Cafe Du Nord, and Hotel Biron.
3. Mare Island Wildlife Celebration

The 20th annual event will feature several workshops, nature walks, a wildlife expo, and an opening night reception near Vallejo.
