Gosh, after all the rain we've received over the past two weeks, the falls will look even better than when I went after the area's first storm in mid-November. It's a hike of less than three miles, mostly going up steps on the way to the falls. It's a mostly shaded trail, so you very well could go in the summer as a respite from the heat.

With the support of area tech firms such as eBay and Cisco, Good Karma Bikes hires people in recovery and trains them to refurbish bicycles. Over the past five years, the program has served 11,000 clients and given away over 1,000 bicycles. Nearly 90% of their clients are homeless, unemployed, and reliant on their bike for transportation.

It's been rescheduled from tonight due to the big storm. Area drag queens and Sisters will be on hand to duke it out on the Union Square Ice Rink.

Over 180 local artists will be complemented by a live DJ, photo booth, and DIY workshops. Great place for holiday gifts!
3. Holiday Lighted Boat Parades
- San Francisco: Friday, 5:30-8pm
- Sausalito: Saturday, 6-7:30pm
- Petaluma: Saturday, 6:30-11pm
San Francisco's parade proceeds from Pier 39 westward to the St. Francis Yacht Club. Sausalito's route starts from Harbor Drive, moves southward to Old Town, and culminates with a fireworks display. In Petaluma, boats will begin at the marina and finish at the downtown harbor, with a Bistro Bazaar and Holiday Window Walk on the agenda.

Gosh, after all the rain we've received over the past two weeks, the falls will look even better than when I went after the area's first storm in mid-November. It's a hike of less than three miles, mostly going up steps on the way to the falls. It's a mostly shaded trail, so you very well could go in the summer as a respite from the heat.

With the support of area tech firms such as eBay and Cisco, Good Karma Bikes hires people in recovery and trains them to refurbish bicycles. Over the past five years, the program has served 11,000 clients and given away over 1,000 bicycles. Nearly 90% of their clients are homeless, unemployed, and reliant on their bike for transportation.

1. Drag Queens on Ice: Wednesday, 8pm
It's been rescheduled from tonight due to the big storm. Area drag queens and Sisters will be on hand to duke it out on the Union Square Ice Rink.

3. Holiday Lighted Boat Parades

San Francisco's parade proceeds from Pier 39 westward to the St. Francis Yacht Club. Sausalito's route starts from Harbor Drive, moves southward to Old Town, and culminates with a fireworks display. In Petaluma, boats will begin at the marina and finish at the downtown harbor, with a Bistro Bazaar and Holiday Window Walk on the agenda.
