Change for Change
Charity: Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Northern California. Founded in 1973, the JCCCNC typically offers programs, sports leagues, events, and community services for over 80 different national non-profits. The March earthquake and tsunami has led the JCCCNC to start the Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund, which will donate 100% of proceeds to a three-prong approach of immediate relief, mid-term recovery, and long-term rebuilding. Movies {domestic revenues for April 1-3}
"Hop" delighted families to the tune of $37.5 million [3579 theatres; $10,490 per theatre]. "Source Code" came in second with $14.8 million [2961 theatres; $5,002 per theatre]. A Paranormal knockoff "Insidious" mustered a third-place opening with $13.3 million [2408 theatres; $5,511 per theatre]. Finally, "Yogi Bear" passed the $100 million mark.
