"True Grit" ascended to the top, with $14.6 million [3124 theatres; $4,675 per theatre; $110.0 million overall]. Nicolas Cage starred in "Season of the Witch," which debuted in third with $10.6 million [2816 theatres; $3,769 per theatre]. The musical "Country Strong" belted its way into sixth with $7.3 million [1424 theatres; $5,145 per theatre; $7.5 million overall].
