Charity: Curry Without Worry. Since 2006, this San Francisco-based nonprofit has served over 23,000 warm vegetarian Nepalese meals on Tuesday evenings in San Francisco's Civic Center. www.currywithoutworry.org

Action sequel "Resident Evil: Afterlife" demolished the competition with $26.7 million [3203 theatres; $8,320 per theatre]. The tween romance "Flipped" expanded without much success, tallying just $0.5 million [442 theatres; $1,089 per theatre; $1.3 million overall; sixth weekend].
