About 50 inhabitants of a San Jose homeless encampment nicknamed The Jungle moved out when police, construction, and social workers arrived on Thursday morning. Over the past year and a half, the city had spent over $4 million to resolve issues at the camp and find housing for over 140 people. Some of those forced out moved to a nearby Walmart parking lot.

It's a classic, old-fashioned deli with cute sandwich names and very much convenient to the Rose Bowl, Norton Simon, and Huntington Library. Reminds me of Ike's, in a way. I begrudgingly order the Mark Sanchez every time, with its deliciousness of pastrami and roast beef.

Maybe it's not such an unknown nook any longer - over 1,000 reviews on Yelp generally shower praise on this 160-acre park through the Santa Monica Mountains. Dog walkers, shirtless runners, and celebrities are common sightings here. I'd recommend entering from the southern end, walking up the dirt path, and finishing down the stair path. Great 3-1/2 mile hike, steps from Hollywood.

Maybe it's not such an unknown nook any longer - over 1,000 reviews on Yelp generally shower praise on this 160-acre park through the Santa Monica Mountains. Dog walkers, shirtless runners, and celebrities are common sightings here. I'd recommend entering from the southern end, walking up the dirt path, and finishing down the stair path. Great 3-1/2 mile hike, steps from Hollywood.
